Turkey will stop pumping gas through the pipeline “Turkish stream” for two weeks for repair work, reports “Interfax” with reference to the Turkish state company Botas.

according to the report, the pipeline will be suspended from July 27 to August 10. This is the second stop in two months: from 23 to 29 June on the pipeline was carried out planned maintenance, which was initiated by “Gazprom”.

according Finanz.ru the interruptions may be associated with reduced purchases of Russian gas by Turkey. The volume of purchases has now been reduced by 70% compared to the 2019 year and almost 14 times if compared to 2 years ago.

currently the main gas suppliers to Turkey are Iran and Azerbaijan. Also, Turkey buys more liquefied natural gas from Qatar and the United States. As a result, as the newspaper notes, the gas of “Gazprom” were unable to compete on price.
