An advocacy group for the rights of american muslims has urged fans of the british singer Morrissey to boycott Thursday’s concert in the us State of Maryland, accusing him of “positions racist and hateful”. The former lead singer of the Smiths, long considered an icon of alternative rock, has become increasingly cleaving, accused of racism because of support for the extreme right british.

“In these circumstances, attend the concert of Morrissey is a form of financial support and an endorsement of sectarianism,” assured Zainab Chaudry, a representative of the advocacy group from the Baltimore Sun. “The relations council of american-islamic (CAIR) is calling on fans to boycott the event to protest against his positions racist and hateful”.
In may, Morrissey, 60 years of age, occurred in an american tv show, featuring a badge for the party of the extreme right “For Britain”, which was founded in 2017 by the militant anti-Islam Anne Marie Waters, a party that gives “hope”, according to the singer.
