For the past three years, the international Boxing day was celebrated on 22 July in Russia on red square in Moscow. This year the traditional festival with the same exponential workouts, battles and performances planned for the same place. However, the head of Federation of Boxing Russia (FBI) Umar Kremlev for security purposes, athletes and citizens took the decision to postpone the event in the online format. His act caused the approval of Vladimir Putin, who has sent the Federation a letter of congratulation to the Russian athletes. This message posted on her official website.
In his address, Mr Putin highly assessed the importance of the festival, the Boxing Federation of Russia conducts on an annual basis on the red square in Moscow. According to him, he is already firmly established in the calendar of sports events in Russia, involved into its orbit many enthusiasts. As the President said, the popularity of this festival proves the fact of the rise of mass sports in the Russian Federation, the growth of the army of his fans. Vladimir Putin expressed confidence that today’s online format will allow to fully realize the educational objective of the festival. Thus, the goal of popularization of Boxing in Russia, promoting its history from the population.
In a press-service of Federation of Boxing of Russia reported that the broadcast of the festival will be carried out in a social network “Vkontakte”. This events will end with a performance in the online format of the national singer Rita Dakota.
