In the Russian Museum on July 29, will open the exhibition “Artists and collectors from the Russian Museum. Gifts. 1898-2019. Favorites.” Large-scale exhibition project dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the Museum and brings together the most significant works received in his collection from donors since the founding to the present day. The General sponsor of the project is VTB Bank.

the Exhibition includes about 1,500 works of painting, graphics, sculpture, numismatics, decorative and applied and folk art, which will occupy all the palaces of the Russian Museum. For example, the gifts of artists and their heirs, and private collectors have created separate sections of the exhibition telling about the history of Russian art.

In the Mikhailovsky castle presents icons, paintings and drawings of XVIII — first half XIX century in the Benois wing of painting, sculpture and graphic arts from the second half of XIX — the mid XX century, the Palace is a painting of the 1960s-1980s and modern Russian art. Engraving, folk and decorative arts and numismatics will be housed in the Stroganov Palace.

Works, located in the permanent exhibition will be marked with special signs, connecting them with temporary exhibitions in the palaces.
