In Poland started military exercises Defender of Europe 2020, which was postponed due to the spread of coronavirus. The exercises are aimed at practicing rapid deployment of troops from USA in Europe and the readiness of countries to accept the support of the allies.
the maneuvers will involve about 4 thousand soldiers from the USA and about 2 thousand Polish military. Will involve 2 thousand units of equipment: 100 tanks, more than 230 combat vehicles, artillery, missiles and aircraft — F-16 aircraft and Mi-24 helicopters of the Polish air force.
As noted by RIA “Novosti”, initially, these exercises were planned as the largest in 25 years, the transfer of U.S. troops in Europe: they were to take part 20 thousand soldiers of the USA, as well as 9 thousand American military personnel stationed in Europe. In March, the exercise was postponed because of the coronavirus according to the decision of the Pentagon, was also cancelled a number of other activities related to Defender of Europe.
