In Rio de Janeiro, armed men broke into the Galeão international airport, opened fire and then fled on a boat, reports Globo, citing Federal police of Brazil.
According to media reports, the bandits tried to take from the airport an 18-metre balloon, which fell on the airfield at night on Tuesday. The attackers entered the territory of the airport for cars and motorcycles, but faced with the guards and opened fire. After that, they fled by boat across the Bay of Guanabara.
Two of the attackers were arrested. Police are investigating footage from surveillance cameras of the airport.
