Russian business representatives met with senior officials of the government of Bashar al-Assad. InterRight news Agency reports that the meeting was seen by St. Petersburg businessman Evgeny Prigozhin. On 3 and 4 June Eugene Prigogine visited Damascus and the territory of the Russian airbase “Hamim”. He was present at meetings with the head of the administration of Syrian President Mansour Azzam, Minister of health Nizar Yazigi, Minister of petroleum and mineral resources of Syria, Ali and Ghanem, Minister of electricity Mohamed Zuhair of Kharbutli. Members of the Syrian government expressed gratitude to the company “Europolis”, which has provided Syria help in the fight against the pandemic coronavirus. According to the publication “Fontanka.ru”, the company is associated with Yevgeny Prigozhin. During the meetings the sides discussed oil and gas cooperation and investment in Syria’s economy and infrastructure in the country. Particularly discussed was the reconstruction of refineries in the cities of HOMS and Baniyas. Russian businessmen discussed with the Minister of electricity recovery gas-fired power plants and power grids on the territory of Syria. It is also reported that they discussed the issue of rent seaports of Syria Russian companies.
