Russian medallist of the Sochi Olympics will now play for team Switzerland

Russian skier, bronze medalist of the Olympic games 2014 in Sochi Ilya Chernousov will change sports citizenship. As reports TASS with reference to the International ski Federation, Chernousov will now play for team Switzerland. Recent years, the 33-year-old athlete competed only in the commercial marathons. For the Russian national team he has not played since mid-2016. The President of Federation of ski races of Russia Elena Vyalbe said that Chernousov after the change of sport nationality will be able to be part of the Swiss team at the Olympic Games in 2022 in Beijing. Add that to the Olympics in Sochi Chernousov took third place in the marathon. “Gold” and “silver” went to Maxim Vylegzhanin and Alexander Legkov respectively.
