Sociologist: the Level of protest moods of Russians have returned to the levels recorded after the pension reform

About a third of Russians (28%) are ready to protest because of falling living standards, reports “Rain” with reference to the results of the survey “Levada-center”, commissioned by the “Open media”. These figures say more about the mood, but not about the actual behavior of citizens, said in an interview with the correspondent of “Rosbalt” the sociologist wounds Maria Mackiewicz.

“you Have to understand that the last two years approximately we observed that level of dissent. According to the survey “Levada-center” in February of this year, before the pandemic, 24% of people expressed their willingness to participate in protests. And at the end of 2018, the maximum was recorded at 30%, which was associated with the pension reform. However, it is clear that the willingness of participation in the protests says little about the real behavior,” — says the sociologist.

According to her, in such studies there is always a “time lag”: while rallies and did not take place in reality and they are not shown in the information field, people tend to argue that the probability of holding low and they are not ready to participate in them. As soon as the action is, talk about it journalists and the public, more people said that the high probability of protests, and expresses its readiness to take to the streets.

“It shows the behavior of the people in Ekaterinburg, when they rallied against temple — the willingness to support the protesters people have grown with the development of these shares. About what they say Ukrainian colleagues on the eve of independence in 2013, polls showed that people did not expect any protests,” said Maria Matskevich.

the Sociologist recalls and surveys of people in the 90-ies with 30% expressing a willingness to protest are really only did it around 10%.

“These surveys are primarily talking about the people’s discontent with the actions of the authorities. According to FOM, in mid-may, less than half of respondents thwe say that the actions of the government they have outraged, 50% say that they did not cause. High disapproval recorded at the end of March, before the announcement of the quarantine, then it decreased, and in the last month, the discontent began to grow again,” — says the sociologist.

Earlier, the “Rosbalt” wrote that 10% of Russians during coronavirus lost his job and 40% have less to get.
