the defense Ministry has completed the preparation for early clinical trials of a vaccine against coronavirus, which was developed by the Russian military in cooperation with specialists of the National research centre of epidemiology and Microbiology named after N. F. Gamalei. As reported by “Krasnaya Zvezda”, said the employee of a branch of the Main military clinical hospital named after academician N. N. Burdenko Natalya Pozdnyakova.
“Before you select volunteers to test the vaccine, each soldier had to pass a full complex of research: laboratory, clinical, and several others,” she explained.
According to her, for participation in clinical trials were selected 50 volunteers from among contract servicemen. The vaccine passed a phase I trial for toxicity, safety, immunogenicity and protective efficacy on large and small animals (monkeys and hamsters) in the 48th Central research Institute of defense Ministry.
