Inhabitants of Ekaterinburg came to an action in defense of the Park of XXII Partsezda from logging. As the correspondent “of Rosbalt”, the representative of the social group “Parks and squares of Ekaterinburg” Anna Baltin, the citizens demand to stop dismantling work.
“At the entrance to the Park is a gathering of residents who oppose the reconstruction of the Park, inconsistent with them,” said Anna Baltin.
Previously, officials have promised the city activists to hold a meeting at city hall to discuss the reconstruction project of the Park of the Palace of youth, so that citizens could make suggestions. However, on Monday, the Park was almost entirely enclosed with a metal fence, in the green zone went engineering for the dismantling works.
Recall that in the spring of 2019 in Yekaterinburg, there were massive protests after it became known that the planned felling of the Park near the Drama theatre to build there the temple of the Russian Orthodox Church. The excitement stopped after the government abandoned plans to build this place and offered to conduct a survey of residents to select a new site.
