Ukraine: Russia must pay $100 million for the basing of the fleet in Crimea

Russia in accordance with the assumed until 2014 obligations obligation to pay Ukraine $100 million a year for stationing the black sea fleet in Crimea. This was stated by Deputy foreign Minister of Ukraine Vasyl Bodnar in an interview with “UKRINFORM”.

“Russia unilaterally denounced the agreement on the basing of the Russian black sea fleet in Crimea. We believe that they must act, since the legal procedures were not followed, and the Russians violated international law by resorting to the attempted occupation of Ukrainian territory,” — said Bodnar.

In March 2014, after the annexation of Crimea to Russia, Moscow unilaterally denounced the agreement on the status of the black sea fleet.
