He leaves behind him a work, prolific and original. The composer Étienne Perruchon, author of numerous music for films and theater, died Tuesday following a long illness, at the age of 61 years, indicated to the AFP the director Patrice Leconte, one of his close friends.
“He died this morning in Nantes where he lived. He was suffering from cancer. He fought until the end. He didn’t want to let down our guard,” said the filmmaker, to which Étienne Perruchon had written several soundtracks ( The suicide shop, See the sea, The Tanned 3…).
“I lost a buddy. I remember his great humanity. It was open to the other. He was never timid or shy. This was reflected in its music, always with a lot of sensitivity, panache, and joy that each time we took out”, has hailed Patrice Leconte, who discovered the work of the composer in 2003, the beginning of a fruitful collaboration.
They have worked on Dogora , a film of a genre unclassified released in 2004 in which the scenario was made up solely of a symphonic suite composed by Étienne Perruchon, Dogora , written in a language of imagination for the music school of Chambéry, to celebrate the transition to the year 2000.
This work is a singular composer’s savoyard, in awe of Stravinsky and Bernstein, has then been produced on stage, with Dogorians in 2013 at the Théâtre du soleil of Ariane Mnouchkine, and then Dianoura an order of Radio France. More recently he had participated in the original soundtrack of the mini-series Philharmonia , broadcast on France 2 in the beginning of the year. A cliffhanger in the arcana of classical music charming for more than three million viewers, with each broadcast of the six episodes.
